2.0 Intercultural Dialogue has become a reality during the 4th Annual Forum of the UNAOC

During the three day Forum which has taken place in Doha, social media enriched the debate and the intercultural dialogue.

In addition to the official Internet communication created for this exclusive event, the Youth event, organized on December 10th triggered this sequence thanks to the #unaocyouth hashtag created on Twitter. From December 11th, twitter users (#qatar4unaoc) and Internet users discussed and shared their opinions on the various topics debated at this occasion. Social media allowed many students, NGO’s, young leaders, political and business leaders but also citizens to contribute and participate to the Forum.

In three days, more than 3,000 tweets have been posted, confirming the turning point this Forum has been on this aspect of social media communication. To share these precious thoughts, a Digital White Book has been created. It offers a selection of the Youth 2.0 contributions to the Intercultural dialogue, the key topic of the Forum: http://storify.com/qatar4unaoc/the-4th-unaoc-forum-doha

The activity of the social media during the three day Forum demonstrated how dialogue needs to be seen as a key issue; in particular to restore a positive understanding of the cultural factor. During this 4th UNAOC Forum, New technologies proved their utility to participate to this tendency.
